We believe in Data Minimization. This means we only ask for the bare minimum information needed to make the math games work.

A. Information from Teachers & Parents (Account Holders)

• Email Address: Used to log you in and send password resets.
• Name (Optional): Used only to address you politely.
• Payment Data: If you buy a subscription, our secure partner handles the payment. Mathodical does NOT see or store your credit card number.

B. Information from Students

• Username/Student ID: A made-up name or number provided by the teacher/parent to log in.
• Math Progress Data: We track which math problems are answered correctly to show progress reports.
• IP Address: A technical number that helps us keep the site secure and working correctly.

2. Protecting Children (COPPA & FERPA)

For Schools (FERPA & COPPA)

When schools use Mathodical, we act as a "School Official" under FERPA rules. This means:

• We are under the direct control of the school regarding the use of student data.
• We rely on the school to provide consent for students under 13 (called "School Official Consent").
• We only use student data for educational purposes, never for marketing.

For Parents (Home Use)

If you sign up at home for your child, we require Verifiable Parental Consent via a credit card transaction or email verification before collecting any data from a child under 13.

3. How We Keep Data Safe

We use strong security measures to protect your information, similar to a bank vault for data.

• Encryption: We scramble data while it travels over the internet and while it sits in our database.
• Access Control: Only essential employees can see data, and they must sign strict confidentiality agreements.
• No Selling: We never sell, rent, or trade student personal information to anyone.

4. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You own your data. You have the right to:

• Access: Ask to see what data we have about you or your student.
• Correct: Fix any mistakes in the data.
• Delete: Ask us to delete your account and data.

The 90-Day Deletion Rule

If you cancel your account, or if an account is inactive for a long time, we will automatically wipe all Personal Identifiable Information (PII) from our systems within 90 days.

Note for International Users (GDPR): If you are visiting from the EU/EEA, you have additional rights including the "Right to be Forgotten" and "Data Portability." Contact us to exercise these rights.
